President’s Pen-
Our mission is clear, Centinela Valley Secondary Teachers Association (CVSTA) aims to organize and build a strong union that advocates tirelessly for the rights and well-being of our members. We are committed to fighting for salary and benefits that reflect a living wage, recognizing that educators deserve fair compensation for the essential work we do every day.
Our goals include upholding and enhancing the collective bargaining rights of all bargaining unit members, ensuring that our voices are heard and respected at the negotiation table. We are dedicated to increasing representative knowledge and training, equipping our members with the skills and resources necessary to effectively advocate for their rights and the rights of their colleagues.
We also recognize the critical need for effective district procedures and systems. When our working conditions are fair and functional, our educators can focus on what matters most—supporting the highest quality of student learning and achievement.
Additionally, we are firmly committed to the concept of community schools that prioritize the voices and needs of all stakeholders. By fostering shared decision-making and actively meeting the diverse needs of our students, we can create a more inclusive and supportive educational environment.
Transparency and accountability from CVUHSD are not just our expectations but are necessary to ensure that our district’s intentions align with the best interests of our students. Together, we will continue to advocate for a district that reflects our shared commitment to student success, educator support, and community partnership.
